Wistron and NVIDIA Grand Opening Event Graphics
For a Wistron and NVIDIA grand opening near Alliance Airport, The Tiger Party needed a temporary graphics package that could turn several working spaces into finished event environments without a permanent buildout.
Lawton helped design, print, prepare, and install the project across the main event room and media room, including large foamboard wall graphics, rigid black backdrop panels, poster boards, stickers, vinyl graphics, and on site adjustments when the actual space did not match the original dimensions.
A temporary event space still has to look finished
The goal was not to build permanent walls. The goal was to create a polished environment for a major corporate event using materials that could be produced quickly, fitted to the existing space, and installed for the event.
That made lightweight rigid graphics a practical solution. The project used 3/16 inch foamboard for large printed wall sections along with black rigid board in the media room.
What the project included
- Large format printed foamboard wall panels
- Black rigid board media room backdrops
- Poster boards and presentation graphics
- Vinyl graphics and stickers
- Graphic design and file preparation
- EFI flatbed printing
- On site trimming and fitting
- Installation throughout the event space

Three parts of the job had to work together
The finished result depended on more than printing individual pieces. Production, design, and installation all had to stay coordinated as the project moved into the actual event space.
Large rigid wall graphics
Several walls required graphics more than 100 inches tall and hundreds of inches wide. The artwork was divided into manageable rigid panels that could be printed, transported, aligned, and installed as one continuous presentation.
Supporting event graphics
Poster boards, stickers, vinyl graphics, and smaller printed elements helped carry the event branding beyond the primary walls so the overall space felt coordinated rather than pieced together.
On site installation
Real rooms bring vents, thermostats, ceiling changes, corners, and other conditions that do not always show up in the original plan. The installation team adjusted the printed pieces in the field while protecting the overall layout.
Foamboard and lightweight rigid panels gave the event team a way to cover large areas, create a finished branded environment, and work around existing room conditions without turning a short term event installation into a permanent construction project.
Project spotlights
A few parts of the installation show why event work often requires production planning and field problem solving at the same time.
The main event walls
The printed foamboard graphics were produced as multiple panels so very large wall areas could be handled without sacrificing alignment or making the pieces impractical to transport and install.
The media room
Black rigid board created the dark media backdrop. When the team arrived, the ceiling height was closer to eleven feet rather than the expected ten, while the primary panels were eight feet tall.
Additional material was fitted above the main panels and secured using temporary methods including tape and zip ties so the visual backdrop could continue to the ceiling.
Working around the thermostat
One wall graphic landed directly over an existing thermostat. Rather than compromising the graphic or access to the control, the installer measured the position and trimmed the board on site for a clean fit.
What happened behind the scenes
Projects like this move through several production stages before anyone sees the finished event space. Lawton’s role was to help keep those steps connected from the artwork through final installation.
With more than 40 years serving North Texas teams, that production coordination is a familiar part of the work. The goal is straightforward, understand the environment, prepare the pieces correctly, and solve problems before they become event day problems.
How a project this size moves through production
Large temporary event graphics become easier to manage when the wall dimensions, artwork, panel sizes, finishing, transportation, and installation plan are treated as one workflow.
Confirm the environment
Review wall dimensions, room conditions, intended viewing areas, and how long the graphics need to remain in place.
Build the panel plan
Divide oversized graphics into practical sections that fit production equipment, material sizes, transportation, and installation needs.
Print and prepare
Produce the rigid panels, verify the sequence, protect finished graphics, and organize the pieces so installers can work efficiently on site.
Fit the actual room
Make controlled adjustments around existing features and unexpected field conditions while keeping the finished graphic visually consistent.
What usually causes problems on temporary event installations
Most issues are not caused by the printer itself. They happen when the file, room, materials, schedule, and installation plan are treated as separate pieces.
Dimensions that change in the field
Even a small difference in ceiling height or wall width can affect an entire panel layout. Building flexibility into the installation plan helps the team respond without starting over.
Ignoring vents, thermostats, outlets, and corners
Existing room features can land directly in the artwork. They need to be measured, accommodated, or carefully cut around during installation.
Panel sequencing problems
Large murals produced on rigid board may involve many individual pieces. Clear labeling and installation order reduce the chance of wasting time sorting panels at the venue.
Choosing a material without considering the end use
Temporary event walls have different requirements than permanent interior graphics. Weight, rigidity, handling, installation method, and event duration all affect the right material choice.
Leaving installation decisions until the last minute
Production and installation should be planned together. The way a piece is printed affects how it can be transported, aligned, trimmed, and secured in the actual space.
Practical planning for large event graphics
A few early decisions make temporary event installations more predictable.
Floor plans and estimates are useful, but field dimensions help catch ceiling changes, columns, wall interruptions, and other conditions before production begins.
Very large graphics are normally panelized. Thinking through seam placement and panel size early keeps production and installation manageable.
A short term event may not need the same substrate or mounting approach as a permanent office environment.
Multiple files with similar names create unnecessary risk. Final artwork should be clearly identified before panels enter production.
Printing is only part of the schedule. Large rigid pieces still need to be packed, transported, staged, fitted, and installed before the venue is ready.
Event environments rarely behave exactly like a drawing. An installation team that can make practical adjustments helps keep the project moving when something changes.
Questions people ask about temporary event graphics
These are some of the practical questions that come up when large graphics need to be produced and installed for a corporate event in Dallas Fort Worth.
Can foamboard be used for temporary wall graphics
Yes. Foamboard can be a practical option for short term indoor graphics when the surface, installation method, panel size, and expected duration make sense for the project.
Can you print graphics larger than one sheet of board
Yes. Oversized graphics can be divided into multiple panels that are printed separately and aligned during installation to create one larger visual.
Can Lawton design and install the graphics too
Yes. Projects can include file preparation, graphic design, proofing, printing, finishing, packing, delivery, and installation depending on what the job requires.
What happens if the room dimensions are different on site
The installation team evaluates the difference and determines whether the existing graphic can be safely adjusted or whether another production step is required.
Can event graphics be installed around thermostats and outlets
Often, yes. Those locations should be identified in advance when possible, but some cutouts can also be measured and completed carefully during installation.
Do you handle more than wall graphics for events
Yes. Lawton supports event teams with items including signs, banners, presentation boards, vinyl graphics, stickers, branded displays, printed collateral, and installation.
