Meet Carmen—The Heart Behind Lawton’s Accounting Team
Carmen didn’t show up at Lawton thinking it’d be long-term. Just another temp job, she figured. But nearly three decades later, she’s still here—steady, sharp, and quietly keeping things running in the background.
She’s the kind of person who doesn’t sit still for long. Take her husband, for example—he’s been retired for a while now, and according to Carmen, he still wakes up most mornings asking, “So, what are we doing today?” Carmen just laughs: “I know what I’m doing. You’ve got cabinets to paint, closets to clean…” The list is always ready.
That’s how she operates—at home and at work. Organized, thoughtful, and two steps ahead.
Before Lawton, Carmen worked at everything from advertising firms (where Fridays came with beer and movie tickets) to high-volume payroll offices that piled paperwork sky-high. She’s been in payables, receivables, booking, and billing. She’s checked the oil in the lawn mower and handled more statements than most of us can count.
At Lawton, what’s kept her around isn’t just the work—it’s the people. “It feels like a family,” she says.
She’s not one to brag, but Carmen brings a rare kind of steadiness—the kind that makes a team stronger without needing any spotlight. She’s loyal, she’s wise, and she’s got a memory bank full of stories and sauce recipes. And lucky for all of us, she’s part of the Lawton story.
