Art Director at Lawton Printing & Graphics

Behind the printers, installs, and finished graphics at Lawton is a full in house design and prepress team. Jason leads that effort as our Art Director, helping turn ideas and rough concepts into files that are accurate, press ready, and ready for production.

Jason joined Lawton in October of 2018 after applying for print and graphic design roles around the Dallas Fort Worth area. What he didn’t realize at first was that Lawton was already a familiar place. Years earlier he had interviewed for a prepress and design position here. It wasn’t until after he was hired that a longtime team member remembered seeing him through the window between the lobby and the production floor during that first visit.

Today Jason focuses on the creative side of production, making sure projects look great and work technically before they ever reach the printer. Proper file setup, color management, and layout preparation can make the difference between a smooth production run and a costly mistake.

That mix of creativity and technical problem solving is exactly what keeps him engaged.

One project he always looks forward to is a yearly goals board created for a client called Mountain Movers Facades. Every year the concept gets more elaborate. This year’s design included an oversized roulette wheel, 52 playing cards, five dogs, and even a rubber chicken.

For Jason, the combination of creative work, a relaxed environment, and a healthy work life balance has made Lawton a place where he can keep doing what he enjoys most.
