Lawton Reprographics Celebrates 40 Years of Service in North Texas As A Family-Owned Leader in Printing and Graphic Innovation
DALLAS, TX., May 13, 2024 – Lawton Printing and Graphics, a premier provider of printing and graphic solutions in North Texas, is proudly launching its 40th year in business.
Bill Lawton, Barbara Lawton and Barbara’s son Greg Howard started the company originally called Lawton Reprographic Centers in 1984. “In the beginning, we were primarily serving architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) companies,” explained Greg Howard, owner, and co-founder of Lawton. “At the time, we were providing traditional reprographic printing of large-format technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans. A lot has changed over the last 40 years, and we have diversified our business in lockstep with the metroplex’s diversification. Today, we provide a host of printing products to a diverse customer base including tech firms, manufacturing, banking, sports teams, cities, and higher education to name a few. The one thing that has been consistent is our strong presence with AEC companies. As Texas has grown, the AEC business has grown and so has our service to this customer base.”
“I think we have been using Lawton’s services for at least thirty years,” said Mike Meinhardt, owner of Dallas-based Meinhardt & Associates – Architects. “It has been great to work the Lawton crew. They are always fast and provide convenient and efficient services. The Lawton team has helped us come up with the right solutions for our more challenging problems. I trust we will continue our relationship for many more years.”
“We first started working with Lawton in 2002,” explained Paul Leininger, creative director for Ribbon Communications (https://ribboncommunications.com/). “Initially it was a corporate brochure and over two decades later, Lawton has become a trusted partner providing us with a variety of print products and services. Lawton has provided us trade show booths and graphics, monument and building signage, corporate displays, wall and window graphics, and printed materials supporting user groups, sales meetings, customer meetings and a lot more.”
Over the last 40 years, DFW has more than doubled in size, exceeding 8 million people. Businesses have come and gone, sometimes as a reflection of the pace of change in technology. The evolution of printing companies has closely mirrored the rapid advancements in technology and shifting market demands. In the 1980s and 1990s, traditional printing companies predominantly operated with offset and lithographic presses, utilizing analog processes for mass production. The late 1990s and early 2000s witnessed a significant transition towards digital printing technologies, and companies began adopting high-speed digital presses, allowing for more cost-effective short-run printing and personalized content
